Walking for Self Determination

Ever since its founding in 1962, the Kobe Oser organization is advocating through peacefull means for the right of self determination for West Papua Melanesia which was stolen with the 1962 New York Agreement and the 1969 Act of NO Choice.

Participating in several walking events in the Netherlands which challenges endurance and perseverance has always been a good combination for Kobe Oser members as a group or individually to gain sympathy for the West Papua Freedomstruggle in the western world.

The Dam tot Dam Walking March for instance,  is a one day walk around Amsterdam and Zaandam with a distance for everyone: 9, 18, 26 and 40 km. Kobe Oser’s youngest member Ruth van Voorn (age 13) carried the Morningstar flag on point of a Papua walking group during the 2013 edition of this March.

The upcoming days we will inform you about another worldfamous walk: De Nijmegen Vierdaagse, “Walk of the World”, in which Kobe Oser members will take part. So: stay tuned on our “Walk for Self Determination“.
